How Secretaries Changed the 20th-Century Office: Design, Image, and Culture

Recently at Danish Teak Classics, I was asked to restore a typewriter table that had recently been purchased by a client.  Standing right in front of it, I asked, "What does a typewriter table look like?"  This foreign object was a product of the changing role women played in the 20th century.  For the whole influential story and its repercussions, visit the current exhibit at the Goldstein Gallery at the University of Minnesota in St. Paul.
