about danish teak classics

Founded in the late 1980s, Danish Teak Classics specializes in finding, restoring and selling Danish modern furniture — that is, furniture and accessories mainly designed and produced during the mid-20th century in Denmark. We’re a small company in Minneapolis, currently employing five slightly eccentric full-time folks and handful of artists and design professionals on a part-time basis.
We offer high-quality vintage furniture, lighting, ceramics, glass and more, as well as a collection of fine art and new, custom products designed under our own DTC:X label. In addition to our vintage collection, we also carry newly made furniture from a few Danish factories that have continued to produce classic pieces from that period.
In our regular trips to Denmark, we search for well-preserved, classic examples of Danish modern furniture — by known designers of this period such as Hans J. Wegner, Finn Juhl, Arne Jacobsen, Borge Mogensen and the like — as well as high-quality, well-made pieces by lesser-known designers. We ship our hand-picked finds from Denmark to our warehouse in Minneapolis, where we restore the furniture to near-original condition while preserving the rich patina acquired over a half-century. We pride ourselves on our eye for quality inventory, craftsmanship and ability to restore just about any Scandinavian modern piece worth restoring. We believe that we do the best Danish modern furniture restoration in the world.
Most of our sales take place in our showroom in Northeast Minneapolis, in the Northrup King Building. We’re also happy to answer questions and sell pieces via this Web site. Don't hesitate to contact us.
If you’re looking for something that you don’t see on our site, we probably have it in one of our three warehouses. And if it’s not there, we’re pretty sure we can get it for you. Just ask.
